Respectfully you are posting this to the wrong company.

MAGFAST is a new organization, yes founded by the same people who previously had rapid success and then sudden failure in the charging business. Customers of the old company voted overwhelmingly that the team should 'get back on the horse'. Today MAGFAST is on a long, slow, patient, crowdfunded journey to ship some of the best chargers in the world and make a real difference in an industry whose products we all use every day.

It is not well understood but when you pre-order with a credit card, merchants like us pay significant fees to the credit card companies Among other things this pays for the insurance your card gives you against a company's failure. There is some amount of risk in any purchase and clearly more in the case of a new, crowdfunded, pre-order company, but the credit card company's job is to protect you in the case of failure. Ironically, the burden they place on pre-order companies like us in fees and witholding of funds makes operating very difficult for us - but it is done to protect you, and of course them.

To maximize the chance of MAGFAST's success (remember one in 5 businesses fail in the first year, and half are gone by year 5) we have to be laser focussed on MAGFAST's customers and creating and shipping them amazing products. The old company fully paid its dues to the card industry to provide you with the protections you deserve for those transactions.

That said we are dedicated to doing whatever we can to help anyone who gets in touch with us, whether or not they are a customer of MAGFAST and we're happy to do anything we responsibly can to help.

It's a scam. Paid 50$ for a thingcharger that never came.

Contacted them and was given an apology and told i would received a thingcharger 2. They turn into magfast. After contacting magfast they tell me they need to stay loyal to their new supporters so they can't give me the equivalent to a thingcharger but i'll get an "extra deep discount" on their new product that will make up for the 50$ i put in. Horse ***.

These guys are out to lunch and on top of all this they're going to give a free 30$ wall charger to anyone who attends their phony launch and they're going to plant a tree. Emails below ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, Apologies that this is an automated response. We have concluded the campaign for our Version 1 of thingCHARGER and our founders are now hard at work on developing the next generation of chargers. If you are a supporter of our Version 1 campaign and did not complete the checkout via the invitation we sent to you earlier this year, don’t worry.

You have been automatically upgraded to our Version 2 model (and its better in every way!). As you know if you’ve been following the campaign, its a very long slow and hard journey to deliver great products. Big companies with massive resources make it look easy, but we’ve shipped a 1/4 million units of something we invented at home and its a heavy lift. Thank you so much for all of your encouragement and support in this project, we never could have made thingCHARGER a reality without you… and, trust us, you’re going to love your new improved gifts when we reach production.

The Very Best, Amy & Seymour Segnit Founders ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Email 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It was such a tragedy what happened to thingCHARGER. Everyone, including me, lost their jobs - but I've never seen a group try harder to make things work out. The eventual shutdown was heartbreaking to watch. We felt terrible that folks like you were let down.

It must have been so incredibly frustrating to be waiting only to be told that the company had gone under. I personally was really frustrated, but what happened next was kind of amazing. First - I don't know if you saw this at the time - Seymour publicly explained - in detail - what had happened. Its here at: http://www.thingcharger.com/what-happened .

In particular Seymour asked you as one of the backers whether or not he should try and start over… and the crowd voted overwhelmingly to try again. So that's what he's doing. I'm actually really proud of him - most people would have gone off to cry about losing a huge company. And I want to be a part that kind of stick-to-it-ness so I volunteered to help make it happen.

(Yes, volunteered. Up to launch - and until there is clearly enough cash on hand - the entire team has been working without pay.) And while this start-over may look fun and elegant and easy on the outside, its the hardest thing we've ever done, to build something like this almost from scratch with NO cash. MAGFAST is a new company. It has new responsibilities to new backers, and must act accordingly to make sure that history does not repeat itself.

But on a personal level Seymour, and all of us want to make things right with you - we just can't do it in a way that drains cash out of MAGFAST and risks a second failure. If that happens, then everyone loses and we can’t help anyone. So here's the plan: 1: Get MAGFAST off the ground to the point where it has enough funds to be sure of viability. We're well on our way to that now.

2: Offer deep extra discounts on the Pro Kit to thingCHARGER supporters about equal to what they lost with thingCHARGER. MAGFAST won't benefit much if at all from orders placed with those discounts, because the profits are already slim on the Pro Kit - but it will allow every penny you paid for thingCHARGERs to 'count' towards great charging gear. A quick word about refunds. As Seymour explains in the video at http://www.thingcharger.com/what-happened , thingCHARGER was trying to do the right thing by allowing refunds to folks who wouldn't wait for their chargers.

This was well-intended, but a bad mistake because the drain of cash to those impatient folks was a key part of the company's demise. It is crowdfunding after all - not a purchase from Best Buy or Amazon. So MAGFAST cannot legally and will not be making refunds of money paid to different company that failed. But we will be working like crazy to look after those affected - because its the right thing to do.

We're working to make MAGFAST successful so that we have the opportunity to do that. We completely understand you may not choose to give us your full support. We aim to earn it anyway. Things have gotten off to a strong enough start with MAGFAST that we're starting our deep discount program for thingCHARGER backers right away.

Most folks would indeed have run away.

At the advice of the crowd Seymour picked himself back up and is trying to do the right thing and fight back. All the best, Melody MAGFAST Family Friend

Lesson learned here folks. Check out ANY business first BEFORE buying online to make sure others have not been scammed before.

If we had checked MAGFAST out first before we placed an order on October 2, 2018, we would have seen several complaints. WE would not have placed an order for $105.00!

Tryng to dispute the charges now with our credit card company. Wish us good luck!

MAGFAST IS NOT A SCAMMER COMPANY. YOU PEOPLE ARE SO STUPID YOU REALLY THINK A MAN WOULD GIVE UP HIS LIFE SAVING TO START A COMPANY THEN SCAM IT,NO SEYMOUR IS THE MOST HONEST PERSON I KNOW, IF YOU THINK HE IS A SCAMMER THAN WHY DO YOU BUY HIS ITEMS.

@GREYEAGLE22

Who are you GREYEAGL22, a relative, a member of the scam team, or what? People put their TRUST into a man and his business when ordering a product.

They EXPECT to receive that product.

When they do not, and the company fails to even acknowledge questions about the product or service, then IT IS A SCAM! Until Seymour and company makes good on their promise to deliver either the product or a REFUND, then people should STAY AWAY from MAGFAST!

I noticed that they do not include how fast MegFast is at charging any device. It only states 5v or 12v.

I wonder if there are any amps leaking out and at what volume. I bet it is already obsolete. The latest date for shipping is Oct 2018. The offer now, preorder the Life Charger $99 and the Extreme $199 total $297 and get the rest of the Pro Kit free, Road Charger $109, Air Charger $49, 2 Wall Charger $49x2 or$98, Jumper Cables $24, $77 various cable/connectors.

The total free offer is $333 which means the total cost is $630. You pay $297. Considering that you are financing them, the price is too high.

You would think with that long winded speech they could have at least put out the charging output amp and what safety systems are used to ensure a device does not charge at the incorrect rate and burn up or die a slow death. Buy at your own risk, but I would not buy.

THANK YOU! I ALMOST got scammed on this NEW, multi-click magnetic charging system, but, thankfully, I know to go looking for reviews and yours was right on point to what I was thinking - SCAM.
